Born in Ireland, 1961

Artist, Designer, Educator, Computer Enthusiast….and More

Born in Dublin Ireland in 1961 I was almost immediately attracted to the Arts and Music. I count myself lucky to have been born into an age that harnessed so much creativity, vision and expansion. Influenced by the many great musical groups of the era and artists and designers such as Heinz Edelman, Milton Glaser, Alan Aldridge and Ireland's Jim Fitzpatrick (Responsible for the Iconic image of El 'Che' Guevara) I was considered best Artist in my class throughout my Secondary Schooling. I did not attend Art School and am entirely self taught.

Traditionally I worked mainly in Oil or Pencils, Gouache and watercolour (Aquarelle) - Influenced by many artists from many differently Periods I worked in a variety of Styles. I got interested in Digital Media around 1997 when initially I bought Adobe's Illustrator and JASC's Paint Shop Pro.  A year later I was designing web sites  but didn't care at all for Microsoft's Front Page editor so I took to learning HTML 4 and subsequently bought Macromedia's Dreamweaver and Flash. Shortly after that I acquired Photoshop and a year or so after that Corel Painter. I have been working as a Digital Artist (initially as a means to supplement my income from my day job as an Assistant Accountant or Financial Controller) for around 15 years and during the past 10 years have taught Photoshop and Illustrator, designed websites and taught English as a second language. I continue to learn and produce art on an almost daily basis whether it we Vector illustration, Digital Painting, 3-d or Fractal. I use too many tools to mention in this Bio but among them; Illustrator, Photoshop, Corel Draw, Corel Painter, ArtRage, Cinema 4d, Ultra Fractal (Mac), Quadrium (Mac), I work on a Hackintosh - a PC that runs Mac OS X which I built myself after my iMac died. Although I do still work occasionally on Windows I consider ANY operating system to be superior to it. IN EVERY WAY!
